Today we’re going to cover burning calories vs. burning fat calories. When you exercise, you will rarely burn any fat calories at all. The calories that you burn when you exercise are mainly stored sugar calories in the form of glycogen. What determines if you’re going to burn fat calories is keeping your dietary carbohydrates or glucose low. Drinking things like Gatorade or eating fruit after a workout will pretty much nullify any benefits of exercise. This is because you will burn up that sugar instead of your own fat.
