But if you are approaching end-stage kidney disease you may need a special diet, where some types of foods and drinks are restricted, especially if you are on dialysis.
Changes to your diet can often help to lower blood pressure, slow down your loss of kidney function, and reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke.

HbA1c is your average blood glucose (sugar) level for the last two to three months. If you have diabetes, an ideal HbA1c level is 48mmol/mol (6.5%) or below. HbA1c is whatโs known as glycated hemoglobin. This is something thatโs made when the glucose (sugar) in your body sticks to your red blood cells. Your body canโt use the sugar properly, so more of it sticks to your blood cells and builds up in your blood. Red blood cells are active for around 2-3 months, which is why the reading is taken quarterly.
